As many of you know, as of December our old “study closet” has been under serious renovation to transform it into a new facility for studying and conducting meetings. Renamed the Dirghalli Library & Conference Room, this new project was funded by our Housing Corporation. Thanks to a gift of $7500 and another loan of $7500, and thanks to the serious dedication of Brother Grand High Gamma Doc Smith, we have officially COMPLETED the project.
Although we are still raising the funds to pay back the loan, fund raising has gone well thus far, as we’ve raised over $6500 in just a little over a month. Also, because it was a surprise to Brother Doc Dirghalli, Epsilon-Mu hosted a Dedication Ceremony on March 2, 2007 to celebrate Brother Doc Dirghalli’s 80th birthday and also surprise him with the official unveiling of the new room. Much to his delight, the room looks beautiful, with twelve leather chairs, eight other office chairs, new bookshelves, a new coat of paint, and a conference table engraved with our great fraternity’s letters and symbol of the cross and crescent.
All in all, the dedication and the entire project as a whole have been a huge success! Thank you to all donors that have generously donated to our cause; if you are interested in donating, contact High Rho Wilfredo Herrera (EMHighRho@yahoo.com). Your NAME and ZETA # will be displayed on a special Donor’s plaque that will be made in mid-April.
