Happy New Year & Site Update
Written by EJ Vincent

First a Happy New Year to all of you, our readers. I am looking forward to what 2007 has in store and wish you all a prosperous upcoming year. This site has been in the making for quite some time and went through significant revision and critique. I am excited about the added functionality and the new, fresh look we”re sporting. I will save you from the long-winded technical details of the new site and instead encourage you to check out the about section where I will soon provide a more thorough discussion of the changes made, obstacles to the new design, and even some sources of inspiration. Here’s some of what’s new:

  • Awards // Scholarship // Brotherhood Spotlight sections.
  • Author description. See the face behind the articles.
  • Article creation has been opened to the public.

“Why open article creation to everyone?” you ask. Our single largest weakness in all our previous designs were not actually weaknesses in the inherent design themselves or a lack of features but rather a general lack of information. Previous versions were functional but not informative. Epsilon-Mu knows that we can become a stronger and more diverse online resource through you, our readers. So simply, email us, identify yourself and the link you have to Lambda Chi Alpha: parents, alumni, business owners, advisers, brothers from other zetas etc. are all welcome. Become a part-time volunteer writer today and help us make this place better.

Close to a year later, we look back and realize the vast progress Epsilon-Mu has made and are excited at our growing online audience. The site over the last 12 months has evolved greatly from what started as an endeavor to help the house gain recognition on campus. Involvement from members, past and present, have helped this chapter achieve, what I thought a year ago, was impossible. The clutter has been cleared out and we’ve adopted a more content-driven focus. Look around, contribute your thoughts, and tell us what you think of the new design!
