We work hard and we play hard. Many of our fondest memories are formed having fun with good friends. The following are some of Lambda Chi’s social events.

Wild Thang

Wild Thang is our biggest party of the year at the fraternity house. During this celebration, the house is transformed into a big sand pit. We decorate with waterfalls, palm leaves, waterslides, a swimming pool, and various caves located throughout the house. During this party you will see all kinds of cavemen and cavewomen outfits, including a few Flinstone cameos.

Lambda Chi Alpine

Lambda Chi Alpine is the coolest party of the spring semester, no pun intended. For this event, the house is transformed into a ski lodge decorated with fake snow, igloos, and lighting unique to only Alpine. Lambda Chi Alpine invites you to celebrate to DJ music on the main dance floor. If you’re not the dancing type, keep warm in the lodge at our open fire place or relax at our bar.

Woodser

For those who enjoy the great outdoors, Lambda Chi’s Woodser is perfect. Grab a special lady and ride along with the brothers to a privately owned ranch. You can enjoy the comforts of a huge bonfire under the stars. Live music, smores, great cheer, and even the occasional tractor can be found here. Good times are had by all.

Spring Break

A time for all to let loose and simply have a great time. Every year, the brothers group together to make spring break the time of their lives. This spring, brothers and friends took trips to Daytona Beach, Florida and on a cruise to the Cayman Islands.

Game Day BBQs

Ask any Gator what the greatest day is and they will tell you “GAME DAY!” at Lambda Chi Alpha game days are holidays, and we celebrate accordingly. Each week we invite a different sorority to spend the day with us. The day begins with a giant barbecue and continues as we cheer on the Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, aka. “The Swamp”.

Formal

Every spring, Lambda Chi will put on a formal date function at a resort or country club. The night begins with a gourmet dinner and continues with dancing and fun. Formal for spring 2007 was held in St. Augustine Beach at an oceanside hotel resort.

Mixers

Brothers rent out a bar, club, or even bowling alley for these themed events. We often invite our favorite ladies, or even entire sororities to join in the fun. Mixers are a great way to meet new people and make memories with friends. Some past themed mixers have been: Army vs. Navy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Secretaries and Executives, Famous Couples, and the famous 80’s Night.

Destination Unknown

Every year Lambda Chi sponsors a trip to an unknown location. Brothers each bring a date along for the bus ride, each unknowing of the final destination. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is spent living it up with brothers and dates. Past locations have been: Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay Lightning hockey games, and Islands of Adventure.

Exchange Dinners

This is a simple event in which we send some of our brothers to a sorority house for dinner and welcome some of the women from the sorority to our house for dinner. Exchange dinners are another great way to meet new people.
