Lambda Chi Alpha was founded in 1909 as a brotherhood of students, and it remains so today. As brothers, we understand that our first duty is to education, as learning is one of our four core ideals. The University of Florida chapter provides many excellent examples of how a man can be both a diligent student and a worthy brother.

As a chapter, we hold a grade point average of 3.08. Our new members continue to set the highest example, holding a grade point average of 3.18. We strive always to better ourselves, and we have shown it with our recent completion of a new library and conference room. The new room is dedicated to Dr. George S. Dirghalli and is an incredible improvement over our past library.

Our University of Florida chapter has an excellent system of in house tutoring. It is not uncommon for upperclassmen to tutor large groups of freshmen and sophomores in lecture courses. Each new member is also assigned to a fraternity mentor known as a “big brother”. This brother will aid him in acheiving his fullest potential in both brotherhood and learning.

Our chapter provides incentives for outstanding scholars. Our “sigma stud” award gives weekly prizes to our highest acheiving scholars. Brothers who perform consistently well may even earn the honor of being named “scholar of the year” at our annual brotherhood retreat.
